McMartinVille--Reptiles

NO NEED FOR A CAR, CLICKED YER MOUSE... AND HERE YOU ARE! "McMartinVille"

Missouri

In July 2000 we took a trip to southwest Missouri.  On the way home we stopped at the George Washington Carver National Monument near Joplin.  Missouri
This picture is what's left of the place where Carver was born.  Situated at the edge of a forest, it was the ideal habitat for Five-lined Skinks.  We walked along a nature trail into the woods and also found a Three-Toed Box Turtle (Terrapene carolina triunguis), but it was sufficiently buried in thick grass to prevent taking a picture good enough to post here.

In August 2004, I made a couple of trips to Branson and found fence lizards and more skinks.
