Hawai'i
|
|
On my trip to Hawai'i July 1999
I saw two varieties of lizard, both species introduced by man. The
most predominant lizards seen were house
geckos. The other species of lizard I saw was a green
anole on the island of Lana'i. I haven't found any
documentation on the occurrence of these lizards on Lana'i, so
these may be a recent introduction to the island. It was in front
of the Manele
Bay Hotel. |

In February 2001 I visited the Honolulu
Zoo. While I was there I saw a couple of Green
Anoles (like the ones on Lana'i) and got some video
footage. I also saw a colony of Metallic
Skinks living in the leaf litter near one of the zoo's
footpaths. |

On numerous other trips to Hawai'i
I have had the privilege of seeing Green
Sea Turtles. |
